Begin the day by paying a visit to the magnificent Sultan Grand Mosque, which features exquisite artwork and stained tiles. We can visit the mosque every day in the morning (08:30 – 11:00), except Friday, Proceed to Salalah’s Omani Heritage Gallery, which is managed by the Oman Woman Association. The garden farms with coconut, banana, papaya, and vegetable plantations will be the next stop. Following that, we’ll go to Al Baleed, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Museum of the Frankincense Land. It displays the region’s historical and archaeological heritage and its exceptional maritime tradition. Next visit the Al Baleed o the historical site, we proceed to the Al Haffa Souq (shops are closed from 13:00 to 16:30) and a photo stop at Al Husn Palace.

The tour starts in the morning at 08:30am with a trip to the world-famous “Museum of the Frankincense Land”. A UNESCO heritage site, the Frankincense Land Museum at Al Baleed Archaeological Park is the newest addition to Oman’s cultural and heritage scene. (Opened Sunday to Thursday 8:30 – 20:00, Friday to Saturday 15:00 – 20:00 the museum houses 2 main hallway, namely the History Hall, representing the history and geography of the old Frankincense trail & the historical backdrop of the Sultanate via many archaeological discoveries, and the Marine Hall, boasting displays regarding the evolution of Oman’s prosperous marine past. An absolute history of the Maritime craft and Oman’s shipbuilding industry could be experienced here. Jeep in mind that, kids under the age of 6 are not allowed to enter the museum halls.
Drive through lush plantations of fruits and vegetables. Make a short break to savor fresh coconut water at fruit stalls (at your own expense) sheathing the lanes inside the boundary of Haffah (Old Salalah town). Also, make stop at the remarkable Sultan Qaboos Mosque to take some amazing photos back home.
Witness the Official Palace of His Majesty the Sultan and amble via the old Haffah souk, popular for its top-quality Frankincense and several other Dhofari mementos. Enjoy the aroma of the frankincense that fills the souk. Furthermore, Haffah souk is pretty appealing with its tiny shops lined with heaps of incense boxes, clay burners vibrantly embellished with typical patterns & pouches of incense crystals. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to shop before you come back to your hotel.
