DAY 01: ARRIVAL at MUSCAT-HALF DAY MUSCAT CITY TOUR

Upon your arrival at the Muscat International Airport in the morning, you will proceed straight to the Immigration for quick and simple clearance. At the general lounge, a friendly and efficient Oman Safari Tours chauffeur will guide you towards a comfortable vehicle and drive for a half day city tour.

Your day-one of the tour begins with a visit to the beautiful Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, which is one of the largest mosques in the Middle East. Later in the day, you will visit the Bait Al Zubair Museum and enjoy some photo stops at the residence of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the Al Alam Palace. The Al Alam Palace is flanked by the 16th-century Portuguese forts Mirani and Jalali. In the evening, you will get an opportunity to stroll through the Muttrah Souq for enjoying shopping and learning the art of bargaining for handicrafts and silver items.

DAY 02: MUSCAT-NIZWA and JEBEL SHAMS

At around 8:00 am, we will we start our tour from Muscat and reach the pretty village of Birkat Al Mauz, which is situated at the foothills of Jebel Akhdar (Green Mountains). Here, you can enjoy a walk through its scenic oasis and dense date plantations. Then we will depart for Jabrin. This is a place, where you can see the finest of Oman’s castles, which are built in the late 17th century became a seat of Omani learning. The amazing castle displays the highest achievement in Omani ceiling painting & exquisite woodcarvings. Then you will visit the Misfah, a pretty mountain village with stone dwellings (still in existence). While heading for Jebel Shams, you will enjoy a stop at the terrace farming village of Wadi Ghul. The next stop will be the Wadi Nakher that is located in the depth of the deepest canyon. At the Jebel Akhdar range, the highest peak-Jebel Shams offers a spectacular view. In the Sultanate of Oman, Nizwa is the birthplace of Islam and is renowned for Nizwa Souq. This souq is renowned for its intricately hand-carved “Khanjars” (daggers) & beautiful ornamental silver jewelry.

DAY 03: JABEL SHAMS-WADI BANI KHALID and WAHIBA DESERT

After the breakfast, at 8:00 am, we depart from Jabel Sham for the Wahiba Sands. This place has a vast mass of undulating red and white sea of sand and dunes (rises up to 200 meters), and a variety of flora and fauna. For a photographer or a photography enthusiast, the ever-changing patterns of the dunes are a great delight. During the tour, you will get a chance to visit a Bedouin house. Then we will head towards the Wadi Bani Khalid, which comprises of small pretty villages that are embedded in the mountains. You will love to see the Wadi that has a clear deep blue water. Then we continue to drive to the great desert of Oman- the “Wahiba Sands”. Here you will come face to face with the enormous desert and get an opportunity to indulge in exploring the sand dunes in a 4×4 vehicle. Your sand dune driving with an experienced driver will prove to be a thrilling experience.

Then you can meet the Bedouin family to know more about their life style. Thereafter you will have to say goodbye to the inhabitants of the desert to reach the campsite.

DAY 04: WAHIBA DESERT-SUR DHOW FACTORY-BIBI MIRYAM TOMB and WADI ARBAIYEEN- Return to MUSCAT

After having the breakfast, you will leave behind the desert and depart for Sur. This place was renowned for its dhow shipyard in former times. There after, you will enjoy a fascinating coastal trip to Muscat that will lead to a rugged mountain and scenic countryside. On the coastal road trip, your first stop will be the Bibi Miriam Mausoleum in Qalhat and later visit the picturesque Wadi Arbayeen (known for its lemon and date plantations) and Fins beach. Your visit to the picturesque Wadi Arbayeen will help you witness the deep pools of water set among the date palms. Then we proceed to the Bimah Sinkhole (a spectacular limestone crater with blue green water at the bottom). While driving along the coast, if lucky, then you will get a chance to see the sharks in the deep blue waters or fleet footed Gazelles sprint across the landscape on clear sunny days.

DAY 05- DEPARTURE TRANSFER

We will arrange the departure transfers to the Airport where you can take the flight back home.
