Continue your journey to Jabrin and visit the castle built in 1675 by Imam Sultan as his secondary residence. Renowned for its painted ceilings, walls adorned with arabesques and finely decorated stucco or wood doors and windows, this castle is a masterpiece. Take a photo break in front of a UNESCO World Heritage site.
For lunch, delight in the flavors of the region at a local restaurant in Bahla. Once you arrive at the pre-Islamic Bahla Fort , explore its historical importance. In Nizwa, take a relaxing stroll through the souk, famous for local crafts, including khanjar (curved daggers), pottery and baskets.

Start your day with a hearty breakfast before heading to Nizwa, the inland capital and cradle of Islam in the Sultanate of Oman. Nizwa was the seat of many imams and enjoyed a period of great prosperity during the rule of the Ya’ruba dynasty, which ruled the country from 1624 to 1744. The city boasts one of the oldest mosques in the world, although it is not visitable.
Explore Nizwa Fort and its majestic watchtower, admiring the history that permeates every stone. A stop at the livestock market offers a unique experience, immersing you in the lively atmosphere of the place. Enjoy the view of the blue and gold dome of the mosque as you head towards Al Hamra. From here, on the walkway, you can admire a backdrop of palm groves and breathtaking landscapes.
Visiting Bait Al Safah in Al Hamra is a journey back in time, where a traditional earthen house tells the story of Oman’s centuries-old history. The women of the village will show you ancient crafts, from flour production to the preparation of powdered medicines and local pancakes. During the visit, you will be offered Omani coffee (kawa) and dates.
Continue by 4×4 to Misfah, a picturesque town perched on the edge of a canyon. Walk through the narrow streets of the village, immersing yourself in the sounds of everyday life. Next, travel to Jebel Shams to admire the Grand Canyon of Oman, an impressive natural wonder. Enjoy a lunch break at the campsite and relax and explore the canyon in the afternoon.
